As mixed reactions continued to trail the recent appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari, people of the South East region, have been urged to ‎exercise restraint in making quick conclusions that they will be marginalized under the Buhari’s administration.
The Special Assistant to the Imo State Governor and Liaison Officer, Lagos, Alfred Ononugbo, made this plea  on yesterday, while speaking at a press conference in Lagos, to announce a Solidarity Rally and Grand Reception in honour of Governor Rochas Okorocha‎ of Imo State, on Saturday, July 25, at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
Ononugbo, who affirmed that Ndigbo ‎cannot be relegated to the background as one of the tripod legs holding Nigeria, however advised that the Buhari administration should be given time to digest the degree of challenge ahead in order to make appropriate selection in his appointments.

Ndigbo
Disclosing that the programme was put up by the Imo State Liaison Office, Lagos, in collaboration with South East APC forum, South East Communities in Lagos, he said: “You can’t talk about Nigeria without Ndigbo, and you can’t talk about Ndigbo without Nigeria. So, we want to make it clear through this Solidarity Rally and Grand Reception in honour of the Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha‎, that we are part of the Nigerian project, that we are stakeholders in the Nigerian project.
“We trust our leaders and we feel it’s too early to begin to make deductions. The fact that APC stood for merit underscores the situation on ground at the moment. I think we should allow the Buhari administration find its feet. The administration is studying the situation of the country, because the APC met a totally broken down infrastructure and system in the country.
“However, we have people of Igbo extraction competent enough to handle assignments. So, I think we should allow our leaders time to digest the degree of challenge ahead and make appropriate selections, to find heads that can feat into those caps. Our major problem in this part of the world is that we are too hasty in judging the Buhari administration that has barely spent three months that it’s discriminating against Ndigbo. That is not correct.
“In a country of 170million, if barely 17 people have gotten appointments, I don’t know how we want to assess that. We are not in a hurry. We have no fear and doubt in Buhari. We trust the man we have elected as the President of Nigeria. He won this election based on his personal integrity and we believe ‎deeply in our heart that his integrity will speak for him and he will be vindicated at the end of the day,” he said.

12 year old girl found murdered by 15-year-old neighborhood boy

The body of a murdered 12-year-old girl in a Salt Lake City suburb was discovered early Friday morning at a horse pasture near her home.

Kayley Vijil, who was found less than half a mile from her home in West Valley City after her mother rushed to a local 7-Eleven around 1.30am to speak to police because she could not find her daughter.

West Valley City Police Chief Lee Russo said that the girl had not been contacted by her parents since midnight, when she was lured from her house by a 15-year-old boy from the neighborhood who did not know her or the family well.

Her body, which showed signs of trauma, was found at 3am less than four blocks away.
Police say they are treating the case as a murder and that the 15-year-old suspect was taken into custody around 1.30pm Friday. He will initially be charged with murder as a juvenile.

West Valley Police Chief Lee Russo said it appeared that there was no prior relationship between the two, yet the teen somehow was able to convince the young girl to walk outside her house at midnight and go with him.
"I believe a good-natured child was fooled and unfortunately made a mistake she paid the ultimate price for," Russo said. "This young girl thought she was helping somebody."

My wife's neighbour is planning to attack her

My wife got a shop in Ikorodu to sell wines last year. The woman next to her has fought everyone along the street and now she's about to pick on my wife. Anytime I go to pick my wife up, I hear her singing war songs. She has an accomplice. I can't bear coming back from work and seeing my wife battered. What do I do?

Islamic State leader in Afghanistan 'killed by drone'

Hafiz Saeed, the leader of the Islamic State group in the Afghanistan and Pakistan region, has been killed in a drone strike, the Afghan intelligence agency says.
Saeed was killed in the strike in Achin in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province on Friday night, it said.
Some 30 other IS militants were killed, the agency said. There has been no independent verification.
A drone strike on Tuesday reportedly killed another top IS figure.

The Afghan intelligence agency, the NDS, said Friday's strike was carried out by US-led coalition forces in coordination with intelligence provided by the spy agency.
Nato forces have had a new mandate since the start of the year but can still carry out drone strikes.
There has been no response from Islamic State on the reports and the Afghan government has given no official confirmation.
An NDS spokesman has told the BBC that this attack, combined with Tuesday's strike, will have a significant impact on security for Afghanistan.
This is only third time that US-led forces have agreed to use drones against IS in Afghanistan, says the BBC's David Loyn in Kabul, showing the seriousness which both the government here and the international coalition are taking the threat of the organisation taking root in Afghanistan.
There had been reports in April that Saeed, also referred to as Hafiz Saeed Khan, was killed while planting a bomb.
Nangarhar's Achin district is close to the border with Pakistan.

China typhoon: Chan-hom hits coast of Zhejiang province

Powerful typhoon Chan-hom has made landfall along the coast of China's eastern Zhejiang province.
Almost one million people have been evacuated from coastal areas in anticipation of a typhoon carrying wind speeds of 173km/h (107mph). Some 100mm of rain has fallen since Friday.
Chan-hom is now heading north past the city of Shanghai.
The typhoon hit Taiwan and Japan earlier in the week, uprooting trees and injuring several people.
Flights cancelled
Chan-hom first hit Zhejiang province on an island near the city of Ningbo at around 16:40 (08:40 GMT), the National Meteorological Center said.
No deaths or injuries were reported in the region by Saturday evening, state news agency Xinhua said.
One village, Laiao, received more than 400mm (16in) of rain, it said.
The BBC's John Sudworth in Shanghai says more than 400 flights have been cancelled there along with a number of public events, and the government has told people they should stay at home.

Greece debt crisis: Eurozone predicts tough talks

Eurozone finance chiefs have warned of tough negotiations ahead as they meet to decide whether Greece's new reform proposals merit a third debt bailout.
Germany's Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said the talks would be "extremely difficult".
Eurogroup chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem spoke of a "major issue of trust" over Greece's resolve to implement reform.
But Greece's Economy Minister Giorgos Stathakis told the BBC his government was "committed to moving forward".
Early on Saturday, Greek MPs voted overwhelmingly in favour of the measures proposed by PM Alexis Tsipras - despite the fact that many of the ideas had been rejected by the Greek people in last Sunday's referendum.
Follow the latest updates here
As the 19 eurozone ministers gathered in Brussels to discuss Greece's plans, many said they remained to be convinced that Athens would follow through on its proposals.

Analysis: Chris Morris, BBC Europe correspondent
Technical experts from the EU and the IMF have recommended that Greece's latest proposals for economic reforms and budget cuts can be a basis for negotiating a new international bailout.
That's an important step, and if approved it should be enough to prevent Greece sliding into bankruptcy. But eurozone finance ministers will also want to have their say, and opinion is divided.
Some countries are optimistic: they believe Greece has at the eleventh hour come up with a serious and credible plan. Others are much less certain.

Homeless boy doing his homework by McDonald's light inspires thousands online

This photo of a young homeless boy doing
his homework using the light from a
McDonald's is inspiring people all over the

Medical student, Joyce Torrefranca, took the

Joyce said seeing Daniel struggling with his
homework inspired her to work harder.
The photo was quickly shared thousands of times with other people saying they'd been inspired by him too.

Daniel was tracked down by ABS-CBN News who discovered his dad had died when his home was destroyed in a fire. One of his siblings is sick and he now studies on the pavement outside McDonald's every night,
near another restaurant where his mum works.

Joyce believes Daniel's example can show us all that anything is possible through hard work. After the photos went viral, the local social welfare officer visited the Cabrera family to offer help.
The story of Joyce's photo also made it onto the local Philippine News, TV Patrol, with people congratulating her for highlighting Daniel's plight. Cols Salinas commented on her Facebook page:

"It touched the life of that kid and his family. It
inspired a lot of people. And touched everyone's hearts.
"Your (sic) such a good example of helping other people pursue their dreams. Job well done

Doctor who scammed patients by falsely diagnosing cancer, jailed for 45 years

A doctor who made millions of dollars by putting more than 500 patients through unnecessary and grueling cancer treatments and then billing insurers has been sentenced to 45 years in prison.
Dr Farid Fata, who worked in suburban Detroit, Michigan, poisoned around 550 victims many of whom did not actually have cancer, by giving them excessive chemotherapy and other treatments.

His actions wrecked his patients' health, with many sustaining chronic health problems such as brittle bones and fried organs. Other victims lost their homes and jobs, and were forced into bankruptcy.

On Friday, Fata broke down in court as he was sentenced to more than four decades in prison for what the judge described as a 'huge, horrific series of criminal acts' that had affected hundreds.
The doctor had remained stone-faced earlier in the week as his former patients had appeared in court to detail the shocking consequences of being put through unnecessary chemotherapy.

But during his sentencing, Fata, whose business, Michigan Hematology Oncology, had many upscale offices in the area, repeatedly broke down crying as he begged for mercy.

Speaking publicly for the first time since he was arrested in August 2013, the oncologist said: 'I misused my talents, yes, and permitted this sin to enter me because of power and greed.'
He added: 'My quest for power is self-destructive.'
Fata, who turned and apologized to his victims in the courtroom, admitted his patients had knocked on his door 'seeking compassion and care', but he had 'failed them'

Fata asked Borman for mercy. But a prosecutor reminded the judge of the victims' "lifetime of suffering."

The judge, calling Fata's crimes "huge" and "horrific," deliberated for about an hour before sentencing Fata to 45 years behind bars.
By then, Fata's tears were gone. He stared ahead, looking emotionless.
His victims, many of whom wore bright yellow to the sentencing to symbolize the last day Fata would see the sun, remained quiet in the courtroom. Afterwards, their disappointment and anger spilled out.
"It's not enough," said Geraldine Parkin, whose husband underwent unneeded chemotherapy.
She, like many others, wanted the judge to impose the maximum possible sentence of 175 years; Fata's lawyers had asked for 25.

"We expected more," said Steve Flagg, whose wife, Monica, testified about learning of her misdiagnosis after her leg snapped in half.
As for Fata's tears, Flagg said: "It was just a show."

Authorities said they, too, were disappointed in the length of the prison term, but felt confident that it would encompass all, or most, of his life.

U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade of the Eastern District of Michigan called Fata's scheme "the most serious fraud case in the history of the country." No prior investigation, she said, included "the kind of stunning physical harm that we saw in this case."
Noting that chemotherapy is toxic to both cancerous and healthy tissue, McQuade said Fata "gave poison to these people not to keep them alive but to make money."
Outside court, many former patients were disappointed with the punishment, deeming it too short.
'Prosecutors did a fantastic job - and he got 45 years. It's a lifetime sentence for the rest of us,' said Monica Flagg, 53, who was treated for cancer before doctors examining a broken leg found she had no cancer. 'What about all the grave markers out there that all the victims' families have to look at?

Lol. Nicki Minaj must not hear this. According to a report on US TV show, Inside Edition, US jeans makers say this lady has the most perfect behind in the US. Below is how they reported it..
"Jean makers say Natasha Wagner has the most perfect behind in America. She told Inside Edition: “I feel very flattered that anyone would say that I have a perfect butt.”
Wagner is the most sought-after fit model for the world's most popular denim brands. Designers check how their jeans look and feel on her before they hit store shelves. Designers say her bottom is not too big, it's not too small, and it’s just perfect.

“Natasha’s curves are in all the right place,” said one designer.

The 34-year-old from Los Angeles is size six, has a 28 inch waist and stands 5’8.”

Jean makers like Jennifer DeClark of the 7ForAllManKind brand said she uses Wagner’s rear measurements as a secret weapon to creating the perfect fit. "She has mil- long legs, she's thin but curvy at the same time, and her hip-to-waist ratio is perfectly proportioned,” said DeClark.

Wagner said it's not easy to stay the same size and shape. She said: “My job is try on jeans and stay the same size.” To achieve her perfect derriere-- she sweats through 100 squats a day. She also spends 45 minutes on the treadmill and elliptical machine.

She eats only healthy treats, like a strawberry and kale smoothie.
